Council of Fashion Designers of Which America?

Char Saint

CFDA has 43 members sitting on its executive board. Can anyone guess how many are of color? Two. Tracey Reese and Jeffrey Banks.

The CFDA’s mission is to “strengthen the impact of American fashion in the global economy.” Here are the facts CFDA (The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc.) is a not-for-profit trade association, founded in 1962 and whose membership consists of more than 500 of America’s foremost womenswear, menswear, jewelry and accessory designers.

If the goal is to link American fashion with the global economy, how can they accurately do so if they executive board including their incoming chairman,Tom Ford, all look alike.

Often times, we are quick to acknowledge “other minorities” but that’s not the topic of discussion seeing as though throughout the world 🌎 there’s really only one: African Americans. Now while this is half part opinions, the other half part is pure fucking fact.
